UP build reference — lifted red Cayenne, white OZ Racing rally wheels, all-terrain tires, front lamp bar
UP

DOWN build reference — lowered gray Cayenne, black wheels, red Brembo calipers, street tires
DOWN
1" DROP · STREET
More like a horse. Less like a Tesla.
Handles every job a household second car has to do. And makes every drive more fun than it has any right to be.

Up or Down. Can't stay here.

Same donor. Same standard build. You pick the stance — the truck is built around it.

UP

Overland stance · 1.5" lift

The one you point at a dirt road on Saturday. More clearance, more attitude, still handles the Costco run on Sunday.

  • Eibach lift springs
  • Bilstein B6 all four corners
  • Falken Wildpeak A/T all-terrain tires

DOWN

Street stance · 1" drop

The one that sits right, tucks the fenders, and turns heads at the light. Planted, quick, and quiet on the highway.

  • H&R Sport springs
  • Bilstein B8 front / B6 rear
  • Michelin Defender LTX highway tires

Every build. Every time.

No skinny base model. Every Cool Dad Car ships with the same standard package. You just pick the stance and the finish.

Porsche V8 power

Naturally aspirated 4.5L or 4.8L V8. German-engineered to run reliably for the long haul, with just enough mechanical character to keep things interesting. We find the good ones.

Full skid plate

Aluminum belly protection from front bumper through the transfer case. Curbs, speed bumps, fire roads — no more wincing.

Roof rack

Basic crossbars, ready for a box, bikes, boards, or a roof-top tent. Rated for 165 lbs dynamic load.

Amber fog lamps

Round Cibié-style amber lamps up front. Timeless rally look. Actually useful in Bay Area fog.

Upgraded brakes

Drilled and slotted rotors with performance ceramic pads. Shorter stops for precious cargo — and the safety talking point that closes the significant other.

Powder-coated wheels

Factory 18-inch rims refinished in your choice of black or white. Trued, balanced, ready.

Full service refresh

Every fluid, every filter, alignment, and a punch list of the known 955/958 wear items handled before you get keys.

6mo / 6k warranty

Full coverage on everything we touched. Plus a partnership with a local indie for ongoing service.

Build book

Printed record of every part, every VIN check, every service. Handed over with the keys.

Two knobs. That's it.

No 40-page options list. Pick your wheels. Pick your seats. Done.

Answers to the reasonable questions.

Where do the trucks come from?

+
Gen 1 Porsche Cayenne V8s only — 2003 to 2010 (955 and 957 chassis). We source from private sellers and auctions across the West Coast. Every donor gets a full pre-purchase inspection before we commit. If it doesn't pass, it doesn't become a Cool Dad Car.

How long does a build take?

+
Eight weeks minimum from donor sourcing to keys in your hand. We build one at a time so every truck gets full attention.

Isn't a used Cayenne a money pit?

+
Only if you buy one from a private seller who never touched the known wear items. We handle the coolant pipes, driveshaft center bearing, and transfer case service before the truck ever leaves our shop. That's the whole point.

Can I bring my own Cayenne?

+
Yes. If your truck passes our inspection, we'll build it to spec at a discounted price. Reach out and we'll talk.

What if it breaks after I get it?

+
Six months or 5,000 miles of full coverage on everything we touched. After that, we partner with a trusted indie shop for ongoing service at fair rates.

Do you ship out of state?

+
Yes, via open transport (not enclosed), priced at cost and added to your build total.
